Jill Riley is introduced in The Death of Mrs. Resnick as the car salesperson Penelope is trying to negotiate with. They discover and bond over the fact that they are both former soldiers. Jill was a driver and gunner in Baghdad. She introduces Penelope to her Women's Veterans therapy group.
